Fantastic Week!!!

It is so weird being nineteen! There are hardly any age limitations now! It's so strange....

My birthday was a blast! When I woke up Thursday morning (pretty early mind you!) Linda and another workawayer, had a fresh baked carrot cake at my spot, with candles in the shape of a heart lit, and ready! There was birthday music playing, and it was so thoughtful of them! Can you guess what I had for breakfast?! Yes, the cake!

My presents when I arrived home!
Anyhow, on Thursday, Linda drove us girls down to my house! There, my Mom gave the new workers a candle making workshop! Its kind of funny that I lived in my household for many years, and had no idea how to make a candle! Or how complex a craft it really is! I was pretty impressed with my Mother's skills after that! The girls really enjoyed the workshop too! I think my Mom should not only sell candles now, but give workshops as well!

Rike proud of her creation!
On Saturday, my friend Sierra, Rike, and a whole bunch of friends packed into our van ( like really got packed in there!) and went down to Boston Pizza, and Fun Haven to celebrate my sister's birthday and mine!

The food was good!

The group spirit was great!

Fun Haven was, "Fun!"

We played bumper cars, did wall climbing, and Lazar tag! Lazar tag was awesome! I won't lie! I wasn't very good at it, but then again...

I wasn't really trying!! I was having too much fun!

Anyhow, this week has been good so far! Unfortunately, one of the new workers left to chase after her lover! It was sad to see her go, because she was so much fun! However, Rike and I really get along! We are around the same age and enjoy cracking dry jokes together, and being sarcastic. Rike is from Germany, and she loves it when I try to speak German. Note that I said, "try!" She says its cute! It has been nice riding with the other girls! The rides have been very eventful lately, which has led to things like laughing so hard you almost fall off, or groaning in pain when you have been riding for over four hours, and actually try to get off!!

Horse Love!

This is my last week at Linda's. It is so sad, because I won't be able to go riding every day anymore, and I will miss Rike and the other worker here! But it isn't as sad as it was saying goodbye to Sandy Pines Wildlife Center. Linda lives near home, and no matter where I go, I will eventually always head back home, so I will see Linda again! As for the other workawayers....I guess I will just have another excuse to travel, so I can visit them!

Rike and I enjoying a good cider on my birthday!

A Long Time ago...Nineteen Years to be exact!

Jacinta Secker was born on a stormy, winter day; January 12th in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

She grew up in several different towns in British Columbia.....

However, when she was eight, she traveled across Canada with her whole family to Ontario

She started with having toy pets....

But quickly upgraded to the real ones!

Age eleven and twelve was exciting!

She learned to bake!

And also rehabilitated her first wild animal! A wild bunny she found in a dog's mouth.

She also started baby siting!

But animals would always be her number one love!

Especially horses!

And her dogs!

Writing also became a passion!

When she was thirteen they moved to a house beside a river...

And near a giant forest, where she spent many hours being a wild child!

Then high school happened, and sports became a love!

As well as drama!

Horsemanship got further developed!

And some exciting traveling happened! In Germany....

And in New York!

Then suddenly she was in grade twelve!

Trying on prom dresses.

More drama

Goofing around!

Then graduated!
Started life out at as an intern at a wildlife center...

Where she learned lots, and made many international friends!
Afterwards she started working at a horse ranch!
And before she knew it........!!

She was Nineteen! I wonder what new adventures this year will hold?!!

Change

The greatest change of all is that I am no longer sick! I am literally the happiest person in the world because of this!

I had the energy this week to climb up the hill and go for a sled ride!

Anyhow, I am back at Linda's and things have been going great! A lot changes within a week! Feeding schedules changed, meals shifted, and I am now allowed to ride and catch horses that I wasn't able to before! This week I got to ride her draft named Storm!! He was such a nice ride, and is really beautiful in a strong way!

Selfie with Storm!

Storm under the moon!

The sky has been cool to photograph this week!

We also got two new helpers! One is from Austria, and the other is from Germany! They are both very nice, and add a little bit of life to this place! Not that I minded it being just Linda, Dale, and I; But now I have some.......closer in age company.

With more riders here, we have been able to work on training a few horses!

The weeks are counting down till I begin my job as a nanny in Toronto! I don't know exactly when my start day is, but it looks like it will be near the end of the month! The couple I am working for are adopting three boys from Lithuania! I am really excited about this, because I am interested to see, and be a part of their transition into a new country and family. I have been studying some Lithuanian lately, hoping it might come in handy near the beginning of their time here. It is definitely going to be a new experience for me! Living in the city, having my own basement, teaching the boys English! This blog is going to get pretty exciting!

Next week I turn nineteen! Boy, does time fly by fast!
