My New Life

Wow, it's already March! I don't know where the time has gone.

So much has changed in my life since meeting Aiden in November and I felt that it was about time I tell the story of the two of us.

Aiden and I met on Bumble, a dating app. With Covid, the cancelation of my favorite spare-time activities, and not being able to meet new people I was getting pretty lonely and bored and looking for something new in life.

Being with Aiden has been new and an adventure!

We clicked right away. We both love farming, the outdoors, adventure, are a little spontaneous and crazy. Most importantly, we shared a lot of values and a Christian faith which I have struggled to find in men that are into the same outdoorsy animal-related activities that I am into.

He has a child from a past relationship but that is not a concern to me. I love children and I suffer from a condition called endometriosis. This condition can make it difficult for me to get pregnant. In the back of my mind, I kind of always hoped that I would find a man who already had a child.

Since our initial conversations with each other, we had talked about building a van to live in. Our dream has come true and we are working on building a tiny house out of an old Grumman van!  We purchased it from his Grandfather and hope to finish it soon.

In January, I needed to move due to a situation happening with my landlords. To make it easier to spend time together and to work on our project, I moved into his Grandparent's basement in Campbell River. This has been a stress-relieving change for me and impacted my life significantly. Aiden's family has been so supportive of us, and readily accepted me into the family. It's been a while since I've been in a family atmosphere and I'm loving it! God has blessed me with incredible and supportive people in my life, especially when I have needed them the most.

It's been a bit of an adjustment going from being a single person into a serious relationship. Its been a big change integrating into a family and being an adult figure in the life of Aiden's son. However, nothing beats hearing "I love you," when I go to bed and "I love you," when I wake up. Aiden, his son, and our pets have become my instant family and I love them all so much.

Otherwise, not much is new! Still working with horses, anticipating my tree planting season, and bummed that jiu-jitsu is still shut down. Whatever happens this year, even if things feel rather static, I know that my life will never be borring.
