Falling off Horses, and Chasing Dogs!

I sure do love it when the unexpected occurs!

First of all, this past week was fantastic! I had three good friends of mine; Sierra, Rike, and Alex come for a visit! They all came the same week, so it was a little crazy, but it worked out in the end, and we had a blast!

Eating out!

On Friday I went to the farm, like I normally do! I brought Rike with me, (she was planning on catching a ride with my Mom back home to Killaloe.) Usually on Friday nights I ride two to three horses, then work Saturday. However, it was raining and the other two horses were soaked, so I decided to just ride Denver instead!

Long story short, he was an ass! I got thrown off twice! Landed on my knee/belly flopped the first time, then bashed my arm against the arena wall the second. I kept getting back on though, till he finally cantered around like I wanted him to! Other then my arm feeling sore, I didn't feel that hurt! Just felt a little shaky!

Denver and I after the ride! Still love him!(photo cred Rike)
There just so happened to be a party at the farm that night, so for the rest of the evening I drank, had a good time with my friends. I was just heading up to bed around midnight, when the dog got out and ran away.

This dog!
This is the event I believe triggered the injury!

Everyone was in a scramble! Pulling on their shoes to go catch the stupid dog. I threw on my coat and ran out into the orchard across the road. It was so dark, and all I could see in front, behind, and to my side were apple trees!

Hundreds of apple trees!

I ran beside my one friend, her phone lighting our way. It was very surreal! It kind of felt like being in a video game. Between the rows we could hear the others shouting the dog's name, or "Marco, Polo," just so we could find each other. It was kind of like being trapped in a maze!

Finally, we found some of the others. They had kind of given up  the chase, and were enjoying some apples they had acquired instead. (These apples were huge, honestly the biggest apples I have ever seen, and good too! I don't know where they sell these apples, because I have never seen apples so big in my life!)

Anyhow, we were just munching on apples and talking, when I spotted him. He ran ahead on the road, looking like a ghost, since all I could see was his white fur. My friend, and I dashed after shouting to the others, "We found him!" Unfortunately, partially due to alcohol, my friend fell in the ditch.....

But I kept going!

I ran so fast! I don't know where the energy was coming from! Ever since my lung infection in June I have hardly done any running. Yet here I was keeping up to a dog, and not feeling exhausted at all! Perhaps it was the alcohol, perhaps I'm actually that fit?! Either way, I was able to keep track of where he was going, and us girls finally caught him!

Then I woke up the next morning and my knee was shot!

It hurt to walk, it hurt to move my left knee even slightly! I tried doing small chores; Like sweeping the floor, washing the dishes. My knee wasn't feeling any better!

I couldn't work if I couldn't walk! My Mom came to pick up Rike, and I explained the situation.

"If you can't work," she said, "then why don't you come home for the weekend instead?"

So, I did! It was probably the best weekend I've had at home yet, since I left! Usually when I go home, its for a big event like Thanksgiving, Easter, etc. Usually, the atmosphere is super stressful and I can't wait to leave! This time though, it was super relaxed. On top of that, my brother Christopher treated me like a queen! I went with Rike back to Linda's farm to see Linda again. However the terrain at the farm was super uneven, so Christopher gave me piggy back rides all around, which was super fun! Then afterwards he took me out for dinner! (I think he missed me! lol)

Anyhow, on Sunday my knee was feeling so much better. I could walk, I could sort of run. I hung out with my sisters till Mom and I took off back to the big city. I actually drove almost all the way from Killaloe to Toronto! I was pretty proud of myself! It was also really nice to spend five hours chatting with my mom!

We got back just in time for me to head off to jiu jitsu. My knee was feeling 100% by that time, and I felt like I could give it a try! The only part of me hurting that night was the bruise on my arm, but that was okay! Now I'm 100% better, and this week has been super chill and relaxed!

The whole family is in New York for Thanksgiving, so I'm all alone with the dogs, enjoying a very peaceful, chill, relaxed weekend! I'm kind of sad I'm missing Thanksgiving with my family, but at the same time.....

I feel like I'm on vacation and I'm really enjoying myself!

Hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving! I know I have a lot to be thankful for!
